La sculpture d’André Ferron illustre une vision personnelle de ce que les différents médiums d’information diffusent au public. Avec son exposition intitulée La mère nourricière, celui-ci traite d’une panoplie de sujets chocs tels la guerre, la cupidité humaine et la pollution. Il sculpte le ciment et le bois, mais affectionne particulièrement la terre, les faïences rouges, noires et blanches, qu’il agrémente parfois de métal. Andre Ferron interprets in his own way the theme of evolution. He presents a series of eclectic, surrealist and often funny sculptures, inspired by what the newspapers, tv, radio, internet bombard us with, from scientific discoveries which are in fact useless, to information that is manipulated at wish, and to which the artist contributes by illustrating what consciously or inconsciously find its way to his brain, which in turn guides his hands.
