Riccardo Zipoli was born in Prato in 1952. Since 1975 he has taught Persian language and literature at Ca’ Foscari University, Venice. The author of numerous publications, he has mainly dealt with historical and stylistic problems in Persian literature. He began taking photographs in 1972. The first shows of his works were held in the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (1976), and Il Diaframma, Milan (1977). Since then his photographs have been widely shown and published in Italy and abroad. In 1978 he graduated with a diploma in film direction and direction of photography from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, Rome. DOSSIER : la culture en panne de sens ?
Des fossoyeurs plus ou moins bien intentionnés le proclament sur tous les tons : la politique culturelle française est arrivée en fin de cycle. Les artistes ne savent plus guère quelle place leur réserverait une société qui serait tout entière soumise au règne de la performance et du résultat – alors même que les inégalités sociales et culturelles se creusent. Autant dire que, si les années Sarkozy vont marquer une sérieuse panne budgétaire dans la culture, celle-ci est traversée, en son sein même, par une crise du sens que les gesticulations pseudo consultatives du ministère de la Culture seront loin de suffire à résoudre.
